Scrapping My Stash - Pocket Page Style

Just when I thought I was getting into a routine with working full-time while the kiddos were in school, LIFE happened again.  I am suddenly, unexpectedly homeschooling two of my kids and find myself with less time to do traditional layouts.  I've been wanting to start "Project Life" style layouts and National Scrapbooking Day gave me the perfect reason to start.

Every May I donate a card-making party to charity.  This year, the party fell on National Scrapbooking Day, so I decided to document our photos from the last party to show them.   I create 3 cards as templates for the ladies and they always add their own personality to them. The girls had a great time, stamping, inking, and die-cutting.

I really like being to able add dimensional embellies to these pockets.

You really don't have to buy the pocket pages supplies; you can use what you have on hand.  I took a bunch of journaling cards and cut them down to size, and layered them with scrapbook paper, and a scalloped edge envelope.  With only 30 minutes start to finish (printing and cutting photos and pulling out supplies) I think I can get do some serious memory-keeping done with this method, look out!

Materials used:
Journaling Cards: Mambo card-making kit
Wood Veneer Embellishments: Recollections
Washi Tape: Recollections

Thanks for stopping by!

Hello Sunshine!

Hey loves!   Kimberly here, and today, I'm sharing a 12 × 12 layout I started and set aside some time ago...just another UFO (unfinished object) until came I across some adorable accents on clearance at Michaels (yes, I am addicted to that aisle).  Instead of creating something new for you, I decided to finish redo this page featuring my little boo boo when she was about 8 months old.

Just look at that smile!  This page is all about the embellishments, they add whimsy, color and texture, making the layout fun and cute, just like her. I love some patterned papers, but I chose subtle polka dot and chevron ones here, so the photo and accents really pop.

Martha Stewarts's die cut doilies layered with the stitched circle sentiments add a touch of vintage flair.

This is my first time using wood veneer embellies and I can't wait to get more!  If you try them, I would suggest ones that are loose in the package and not adhered to anything, as they are fragile and break easily when trying to remove them.

Lovin' the added dimension and texture.

Do you have any UFOs that need finishing?  Maybe just the right accents will give you the look you want.  Dig through that stash or find some new, discounted embellies to add your signature flair!

Supplies not mentioned above
Patterned Paper: Recollections
Felt flowers: Recollections

See you next time!

Hugs,

Kimberly
