Grateful cards: a GREAT idea

Just the other day, I was surprised to find this card in my mailbox.  Yes, it is the holiday season.  However, most of my friends and family do not send out cards this early in the season.  I don't expect cards to start arriving until around the 10th of December.  LOL!  Before, I opened it I thought it was going to be a cute Thanksgiving card or sort of an enjoy your day card.   However, to my delight it was more of a "grateful" card from one of the Scraps of Color readers.  Inside this beautiful card, Sharon Sutton writes, "I will be  forever grateful for this place you established for me to share my creativity." It made me smile.  Scraps of Color is my passion, my love and I am more than happy to share it with all of you.   But more than making me smile, this card touched my heart and sparked my own creativity.  A grateful card.  I have sent out the typical Thanksgiving cards to friends and family but never had I thought about sending cards simply to say to someone how grateful I am for them.  What a wonderful way to celebrate this holiday and give to others.  It may be too late to do for this Thanksgiving, but it's never too late to say, "Thank You."

Now add this great idea to your holiday card list for 2011.  Send out grateful cards for Thanksgiving!

Thanks for the beautiful card Sharon and for the great idea!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.  I am so grateful to have you here with me!

  2. What a wonderful way to celebrate life. One of the reasons I love the industry of cards is because regardless of the reason, whenever we give a card or receive one we've stepped outside of "self" to celebrate another of God's children. This selfless task reinforces my optimism for eventual peace for the world!
