Road Trip and Back to School

Hello there SOC family It's Sharette here with another project. I know a lot of us have been very busy with school starting or getting ready to start. All of my kids  have now return to school and I can tell you that I think it will take us another week before we are all finally back into our routine.
Today I have a fun card and a little tutorial to share with you.
Some of you may be sending someone off to college.. or maybe just taken a well deserve vacation. This image here from Saturated Canary is called "Road Trip" and she is just perfect for some one packing for on the go.
I started off with coloring my image and cutting her out to my liking. Because she is a rather large digi with all of her luggage and accessories. I decided to leave her with a pretty nice size frame. Then I chose my card stock and DP. I went with "kraft for my base and "Sweet Blush" from PTI for my mat. My DP is from My Mind Eyes.
My card size is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2. I usually do the standard A2 cards but again if you do have a large size image or stamp, it's better to make your card a little bigger as well.  So after I cut my paper this is what I have.. The kraft is cut at the length at 51/2 and folded with a bone folder.. for my Sweet Blush I cut that at 51/2 at the 'width".. and that way I can use one half for my mat and the other for a standard A2 card for another project.
Once I have done that; I then cut my DP into the exact amount of size and layers that I want for my card. I again usually go pretty simple, so I used 2 different layer and another one for my image it self. Using my ATG gun or some 2 sided tape and some pop dots to attach my layers.
One I have done that it's just to put the card together. I added some ribbons, some button brads. My gorgeous ribbon  "Chartreuse" also from PTI. and some mini letters from Cosmo Cricket.

I really hope that you are enjoying my projects. I know I really only do cards, which is what I love doing most of all. I hope that I am inspiring some of you that may just be starting out crafting and want to do more card making, or may be you are an avid Scrapbooker and want to step out the box. I hope that you see something that you like and would like to give it a try.. Or even if you have questions or suggestions (am always open to the two) then Please leave me a comment OR better yet leave us a link to your blog or projects I know that I would love to see it.

Thanks for looking and
Happy Scrapping,

Sharette
