Hello there! I love embellishments and fun scrapbooking supplies as much as the next scrapbooker. You only have to look at some of my layouts to know that. But sometimes beautiful photos just want to be left alone! Well, what’s a flower, jewels, patterned paper loving scrapper to do? I have a suggestion.
I had about 30 really good photos from a trip to a
National Park of California Redwoods. Of
course, the trees were the best part of the whole experience. So, I culled it down to the ones that best
represented the beauty of the trees. I
left most of them full-sized so they could speak for themselves.
But, amazingly, I still managed to include 3
different pattered papers along with a few other minimal embellishments. And a fun title finished it all. It’s a simpler page than I normally do, but I like how it
really highlights the most important part – the beautiful forest!

Sometimes,
simpler is better. So, the next time you
have some photos that are just screaming to take center stage – let them!

I love the way you let the photos be the star of the page! Sometimes we get so caught up in the "stuff" that the beauty of the moment or picture takes a back seat and/or gets completely lost. Thanks for the reminder that the "memory" is truly what it's all about.
ReplyDeleteLovely job on this LO. The trees draw your attention just as you planned.
ReplyDeleteI love how you kept the focus on the photos, but still made a beautiful layout. Clean and simple is definitely not your typical style but you made it work. Another great layout.
