Father's Day "Magic" In A Card

Why not make Father's Day "Magical" with a card that makes you go hmmmm!! I decided to try something new and make a Magic Card. You will get the ohhhhh's and ahhhh's when you put one of these together!

Are you ready? Here we go.... Here is the card closed. I randomly stamped grills using the CTMH Perfect Fit - Dad stamp. This was great since my dad loves to cook ribs and boy oh boy they are yummy:-)

Here is the card with the slider pulled up. Are you wondering what happened to the black stamped image?! Hmmmm

You will want to start off with a 8 1/2 x 11 piece of card stock. Score it at 5 1/2 inches, turn and repeat. This will give you 4 equal panels.
Remove the bottom left panel and cut 1/8 inch off the bottom right panel.

To cut the circle from the center I used the Spellbinders Nestabilities Petite Scallop Circles Large and ran it through my Big Shot.
I made a tab by placing my circle punch half way through the top of the card stock.

To close up the card I used sticky tape on 3 sections as shown to the right. Remove the tape backing and secure as shown folding the left panel to the right finishing it off.
Grab a piece of card stock and a piece of acetate. (I bought the acetate at Hobby Lobby in the paper section. It came as one 12x12 sheet)

I cut both at 5 x 3 3/8 inches making sure the pieces were easily able to slide up and down the card taking into consideration the sticky tape.
I slid the acetate into the card and grabbed my CTMH May SOTM, "You've Got A Friend" and stamped directly on the acetate. I used black StazOn ink. Try to center the stamped image (I did this 3 times still didn't get it centered, I am sure you can do better LOL)
Then stamp the same image on your piece of card stock. I colored in the image using Copics E07, Y15 and B66.
Place the stamped acetate image on the top of the colored image. I used a circle punched and folded it over the top of the acetate and card stock. I secured the acetate and card stock together with a brad.

Slide the insert into the card with the white card stock behind the inside flap and the stamped acetate piece over the top of the inside flap, hiding the colored image.

I really like how it came out. Totally gives the WOW factor. You can decorate and embellish the front of the card as you see fit.

Now it's your turn to give it a try!! Post your finished card in the comment section :-)

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting!
