Room Decor - Dry Erase Fun

How often do you create home decor items? Me not so much but I am loving all the ideas I see out there which had me excited to try a Dry Erase Frame! With school soon to be in session I figured this would be a good way to communicate since I am at work prior to my girls going to school. 

It all begins with a Dollar Store frame!! Here is my Dollar store haul...

I didn't check out the back when I bought them and got home to a glued frame. I used my exacto knife to cut along one edge to remove the designed paper. 

Here is one of the finished frames. Design wise I thought of it as a 8 x 10 scrapbook layout and decorate the page accordingly. I really like the Julie Nutting stamps so I decided to make them the focal point on both of the Dry Erase Frames. 

 I stamped the image on Colonial White card stock. 

 I repeated stamping the image on different pieces of patterned paper so I could paper piece the dress and hair bow. 

 You can see how I pieced the belt around the waist of the dress.

I colored her hair and body with ShinHan Touch Twin markers now available through CTMH. (you see I was testing out browns for the body in the right hand top corner).

Here is a close up. I added some embellishments to jazz up the page. A little line doodling, my daughters name using the CTMH Artiste cricut cart, a border and some bling. The paper is CTMH Scaredy Cat. 

I made another one for my daughter Aria. This one I colored the entire image and added some random flower stamping to the wrap she is wearing. The paper is CTMH Chalk It Up.

 Here is the finished product. I again used the Artiste cart for the name. The fun colorful stickers are complimentary stickers that go with the Chalk it Up paper packet. 

This is a fun gift giving idea using any type of frame. It was totally economically feasible. The dry erase works like a charm and will be a great means of communication for my little princesses and I.
