It's October and We are Getting Turnt up for 10!!!

Can you believe that this month marks 10 years of Scraps of Color!  My heart is full!  My LOVE for the sistahood is immense!  My gratitude and delight that this has grown to over 2500 crafters is overwhelming. This has been and will continue to be one AMAZING journey.

I cannot believe that this just started out as my desire to connect more with women of color, to share more, to see more scrapbook pages that looked like me, to do more than come in the room and say, "Hi," but to form relationships and form a community.  Starting out with only about 10 members, most of which I still get together with to create. It has exceeded my expectations!

We have birthed babies, said goodbye to loved ones, attended weddings, held our 1st and 2nd National SOC Retreat, held our first ever Cruise and Crop, formed lifelong friendships, we have challenged each other, shared many laughs, we have loved and supported one another through many ups and downs, all while encouraging and sharing our crafty love.

This month would not be complete without a wonderful celebration!  So be sure you get "Turnt Up for 10!"  The festivities begin on the SOC Anniversary, October 6, 2014 and will end with a fun blog hop featuring some wonderful SOC Community Members, October 10-12.  There'll be goodies and challenges along the way.  So be sure to "turn up" here on Monday, October 6 for the Turnt Up for 10, SOC 10th Anniversay Celebration! Woohoo!  YES!!!!
