Creating a background using templates

With all the new crafting templates out now it's so easy to create a background for your cards or layout pages if you just can't find the perfect patterned paper. Since they come in a variety of shapes and sizes it's easy to find the right one for your crafting needs. You can use inks, mists, acrylic paints or chalks. If you want to create a mixed media project, try using gesso or molding paste to give it more texture.

I created a layout using a 6x6 template from The CraftersWorkshop and a couple of cute photos of my grandniece. It was the perfect size and shape to coordinate with the hexagon shapes I used for the background.

So the next time you're staring at a blank sheet of cardstock or canvas, try using a template to create your own one of a kind background...you'll love the results!
