Journaling Fun!

Hello there!  I’ve mentioned a time or two that my preference is to journal on the computer.  Those that know me know that I usually have a lot of words to say.  OK, I’m a little talkative!  But when it comes to handwriting journaling, I clam up.  So, the computer it is.  I even have a small PC and printer that I take to crops to make sure I don’t forgo the journaling on my layouts.

But for some layouts, the photos and title tell you most of the story.  Unless I have more sentiment or there is something interesting that might not be readily apparent from the photos, I’ve been drawn lately to making journaling “labels.”  These are simply descriptions that I type up and run through the computer on cardstock.

This layout is a group of photos from my birthday earlier this month.  I like the pop of color from the “labels” and the font is perfect.  I simply ran the cardstock through my printer, cut out the labels and then used my trusty Xyron X tool to get adhesive on the back. This way, I get all of the edges to lay flat.

These journaling “labels” can be a fun, easy way to add some color and additional journaling to your layouts.  And, yes, they do count as journaling!  LOL!

  8. I so agree...sometimes you only need a word here or there on a layout, and not a complete story. Beautiful, cheerful layout!
