Although
I am going to be sharing my musings about Mother's Day in this blog post, I
would be remiss if I did not take the opportunity to wish you a HAPPY NATIONAL
SCRAPBOOKING DAY! I hope that you have found a fun way to celebrate it.
Even
if you’re not going to a crop today, you can always join in on one of the many
online crops. And don’t forget to join in the Scraps
of Color NSD Discussion and let us know what you’re up to this glorious
weekend.
Now,
on to Mother's Day.... I used to think that Mother's Day was just a time for me
to send cards and gifts to my mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother to let
them know how much I love and appreciate them.
Then
I thought, “But what about my “mom” friends?” I usually just tell them, “Happy
Mother’s Day” around that time and that’s about it. But this year is going to
be different.
When
I started thinking about my “mom” friends, I thought, wouldn’t it be neat to
give them each a unique tag, designed specifically with that friend in
mind. Then write a heartfelt note on the
back, sharing something that I admire about them in their role as a mother.
I
thought I’d share a couple of them with you.
This one is that I made for a friend of mine that collects roosters for
her kitchen.

I
think I might start a tradition of giving them a new tag each Mother’s Day. After
a few years, they will have their own little tag book, full of warm sentiments
that I have shared with them through the years.
Of
course I just had to make one for my most favorite mom – MINE! But I cannot
post it now because she is my biggest fan (and I am hers) and I know she will
be reading this post as soon as it’s published! So I’ll have to post it in the
Gallery after Mother’s Day.
So, what do you say? Will you be starting this
tradition for the moms that have touched your life? I’d love to see what you
create for those special moms in your life!
Nice tags and thanks for sharing a great idea!
