There
was a time when every (I mean EVERY) layout I did had extensive bling. Brads, flourishes, bling shapes, etc. – I couldn’t
get enough and would pile them on. Those are still some of my favorite layouts. I know scrapbook trends come
and go, but I was reluctant to give up my over-the-top sparkle.
But, as always, the scrapbooking
manufacturers kept coming out with new bits and bobs and the bling kind of took
a backseat. I still used it, but so much
more sparingly.
But
when I went to scrap a few pictures from a weekend on Jekyll Island that included
a Kentucky Derby party, nothing else would do!
I was reminded how a big, beautiful flourish instantly glams up a
layout.
Derby by Moanica Caston. Cardstock: Bazzill; Patterned Paper, Chipboard, Sticker: Echo Park; Bling flourish: Prima; Green bling center: Petaloo; Wood butterfly: Maya Road; Washi Tape: Feckled Fawn; Alphas: America Crafts Thickers.
Shiny,
happy, shimmery bling embellishments are one of those things that I think will
never get old in our scrapbooks. They
add a certain flair like nothing else can.
So, go find yours (I know you have some) and get to sparkling!

ReplyDeleteMoanica, you two are one of my favorite couples. You created another great layout I will have to scraplift. This layout wouldn't be you if you didn’t put some bling on it.
