Stamped Image Organizer

Hello All!  Renee here with a quick and easy way to store the extra stamped images we all have.  Most stampers, regardless of whether they work with digital files or rubber stamps, stamp off extra images of the projects they are working on.  I always print extra digital images when I do a print and cut (my preferred stamping method) in order to avoid wasting the cardstock that is used for copic coloring. Even when I stamp rubber or clear stamps, I make at least 2 copies of the image in case I mess up one.  Up until now, I have never had a good storage solution for the extra images I have collected.

I made this organizer for my digital images from a simple card organizer file that I purchased through the silhouette store.  It is comprised of a series of boxes, glued together to make a file cabinet of sorts to hold cards.  I made mine from inexpensive black cardstock that I purchased from Target.  It is not very sturdy cardstock, but when all the boxes are glued together the box itself is more than sturdy enough for my purposes. (Note:  If I were making this box for its intended use as an A2 card organizer, I would use as substantially more sturdy paper. However, the digital images are so lightweight that the sturdier cardstock was not needed.)

Because all the supplies in my scrapspace are made from black cardstock and decorated with pink patterned paper from the Sabrina line from Making Memories, I drew boxes on the side panels of the main box the size I needed for decorative panels and cut them out.

I also have all my supplies labeled for easy location.  I have used LD Boogie Down from Lettering Delights on all my supplies.  To make this simple label, I typed my label with Boogie Down and cut it from scrap vinyl, then applied it to my paper.  By using vinyl, I did not have to apply glue to the back or worry about getting the placement straight.

To hold my images, I used simple 4 x 6 note cards that I purchased from the dollar store.  I stapled a snack sized baggie to the front, taped the excess to the back and wrote the name and designer on the back of the images for easy reference when designing.  Some of my images were so old that I could not remember where I got the stamp.  I simply left those blank.  Once I use all the images from a card, I can simply recycle the cards for other images.

I hope this simple storage solution helps you to organize your stamped images.  Happy Scrapping!

  2. Love this idea. Mine are stored in a photo box. Now I need to put them in small ziplock. The index card will help me to remember where I got the digi from. TFS

  9. Love this idea Renee. Mine are stored in a $1 mini photo album but it's getting too fat, and I still haven't filled in all of the pockets. The really sad thing is that when I need an image, I often forget to even look in there and many of them are colored already!
