You Can Call Me Queen Bee!

Mother's Day is right around the corner, are you making your cards this year?   Need a little inspiration?  There's nothing sweeter than vintage bees and honey in shades of black and yellow with pops of pink.  I layered up the papers and added 3D embellishments to really make these cards pop, I love a good chunky card!

You can give your cards texture by adding layers of coordinating papers and different materials like the black faceted gem, twine, whimsical pom pom trim, and the doily.

Try adding some of the latest trends to your projects, here I used the Fiskars hexagon squeeze punch to get the "honeycomb" shapes and added the wooden banner-shaped accent.

For this card, I stamped the bee image, but created my own digi stamp for the sentiment.  When you can't find exactly what you want in a sentiment stamp, make your own!   For this "sweet as honey" sentiment, I played around with different fonts in MS Word, some were free downloads from the Internet.  I really layered on the dimension with these 3D paper roses and wood accent from Michaels' Recollections line.

Scrappy Supplies:
Paper: My Mind's Eye The Sweetest Thing ~ Honey
DCWV La CREME matstack
Bee Stamp: Stampendous Queen Bee
Paper Flowers: Recollections
Wood Accents: Recollections
Pom Pom trim: Recollections

How do you add texture to your cards?

'Til Next Time!
Kimberly
