As much as I love drooling over and buying all the new
goodies that come out, sometimes even I can’t justify some things. Halloween is usually one of those times. It’s usually pretty quiet around here on
October 31st. We pass out
candy, but that’s about it. So, I
normally don’t have photos to scrap.
Well, one year Tiare, Melissa and I went to Archiver’s
for a Halloween crop. We dressed as “Scrapbook Queens” – complete with tiaras and boas! We had a ball!
I was so excited to finally have some good Halloween pictures. But when I went to scrap some of the photos,
I made a discovery. We weren’t wearing
traditional Halloween colors at all!
My solution? I
grabbed a page kit with some pink in it – I think it was meant more for Spring
time and Easter – and a packet of silver Halloween shapes and kept it
moving! This is a great trick – use embellishments
to lend that seasonal air to your layouts when the colors in the photos don’t
necessarily do that.

Have
fun on October 31st passing out candy or whatever you do to mark the
occasion. And don’t worry about all the
colors in your photos. Embellishments can
help you pull it all together!

Great layout and I love the way you were able to incorporate a Halloween theme using non-traditional colors. Always thinking outside of the box.
ReplyDeleteThis is too cute, love the silver embellies and non traditional colors too.
ReplyDeleteGreat LO, love how you used your embellishments to showcase your theme; tfs!
ReplyDeleteMoanica, this is so cute!!
ReplyDeleteVery cute, Moanica!
ReplyDeleteAdorable layout Moanica! That is a really good tip about using the shapes to sell the theme when the colors aren't available.
